“I hear Voices during my Lucid Dreaming and OBE”

'Ask the Fringe Dweller' Blog Question for Monica Holy author of 'Fringe Dweller on the Night Shift'Submitted on 2010/02/25 at 2:33 pm

Hi Monica :)

I have a question for you about a recent experience of mine.  Throughout my life I have had many intuitive or “paranormal” (for lack of a better word) experiences such as knowing things before they happen, seeing/sensing spirits, and having lucid dreams, but they have all been widely interspersed through the years (I’m 22 now) and fairly infrequent.  I had my first OBE at 17 and another last year.

I began listening to these hypnotic trance CDs about two weeks ago that have really been putting me into a deep state every time I listen to them, and ever since I have been experiencing lucid dreaming almost every other night, including intense flying dreams, and last week I had another OBE.  It’s funny, because the CDs are only meant to bring you into more of an abundance mentality, but it seems like they have opened up more channels for me.

What’s most interesting is the experience that I had while I was out of body.  It started with a dream, then I was flying over the ocean, (in the most conscious, lucid state I have ever experienced while dreaming) then I was floating barely a foot above my body in bed and feeling myself out of my body and yet I could feel my limbs buzzing at the same time.  Here’s the weird part: as I was laying there, I suddenly heard this voice.  And we’re not talking like dream-hearing, where you know you heard it but it doesn’t really make any sound.  No, I heard this with my ears.  It was almost like picking up static from a radio frequency.

The first thing the voice said was a long string of numbers and letters, something similar to: “M41IYIYIYIYIY.”  Then it spoke a couple of sentences in English, but get this: I couldn’t comprehend it.  I heard each word, recognized it as an English word, knew that the sentence should make sense, but as hard as I tried I simply could not put any meaning to the words, and had no idea what he was saying.  Then, it gets stranger: I heard MY voice respond – with another sentence I couldn’t comprehend – but I wasn’t trying to say anything back.  I get the feeling it wasn’t me, it just was my voice somehow.  Then the other voice responded, and I heard, clear as day: “can you hear me?”

This was the first time I actually felt like the voice was “aware” of me, so to speak, and was actually addressing ME, floating/laying there, and I could understand what he was saying.  The impression that I got was that it was surprised by my hearing it.  I tried to respond with a simple “yes,” but without meaning to I was trying to speak with my lips, rather than just thinking it, and I felt my lips move but all that came out was this long garbled noise like you would hear if someone tried to talk underwater, and my attempting to physically move is what I think snapped me out of it and back into my body.  As I lay there, the voices literally went quiet around me and the silence in the room grew SO loud.  I’ve never experienced anything like that before.

So my question is, do you have any idea what the voices could have been or what I was hearing/tuning in to?

I understand if you can’t respond but if you do I really appreciate it!  Thanks.  :)

Excerpt of painting 'Grey Wolf' by Psychic, artist Monica Holy, author of 'Fringe Dweller on the Night Shift'Dear Tien,

Well it certainly sounds like you had quite the OBE (out of body experience)!  I understand how challenging it can be to describe such an event to others who haven’t had a similar experience. Somehow, the depth of the supernatural feeling never seems to get expressed quite the way we wish it could. That’s when the English language with ‘words’ seems somehow cumbersome. It can be very frustrating. You did very well, I can relate to a lot of what you described!

Let me start off, who or what exactly the voices were, I can’t tell you specifically. Perhaps a guide, another spirit, your own higher self, the possibilities are many.   I can however offer information that may lead  you to finding out.  I hope you’ll bare with me.

If you’ve already had similar OBE and Astral Dream experiences, you are likely of a ‘sensitive’ nature. Like most psychics, that means any methods of deep relaxation can increase the likelihood of deeper experiences- you’ll find yourself going further ‘down the rabbit hole’.  This goes hand in hand with something I like to call ‘The Art of Allowing’. However, this is not as easy as it may sound.

I’ve often referred to my ‘back seat driver’, the logical mind that comes along for the ride as a passenger during my lucid dreaming experiences. Finding what makes a good marriage between the art of allowing, and the observer part of the logical mind to enable the experience not to crash to an abrupt halt, can be a tedious balancing act that improves over time with each experience.

Most people have a really tough time ‘letting go’ of the how, what, when, where, why of things.  Hence, I would make a lousy journalist, because most of those things are irrelevant to me during a spiritual experience, because they tend to override the whole concept of ‘being’ in the moment of something.

Having the feeling of being SAFE during your astral travel, will open up and enable you to allow more freely. The more in the moment you are, the more potential you have to take things in, and you’ll pick up on more details each time. However, another key element in all this, is to do this with an open mind, free of EXPECTATIONS.

Many people have had one pivotal experience, which was joyously overwhelming. As soon as they try to REPEAT the experience, retracing over the same steps, disappointment is most often the result. Expectations are in direct conflict with the art of allowing. No two experiences are identical. See the dilemma?

As for the ‘voices’, or communication, I’ve had similar experiences. Again, the logical mind along for the ride is doing it’s dandiest to ‘decipher’ what’s going on, and gets twitter pated when it can’t seem to find ‘the words’ to do so. I’ve often described this type communication as complete thoughts that enter in a nano second, almost streaming in. For now, try to let go of all the ‘what’, and just allow the gist, the emotion, the overview to come through. When I journal these dreams, I often find myself stringing together 5-6 words that on their own, wouldn’t completely relay what I heard or felt. However, together in a string, I can revisit the event, and pick out the prime elements/aspect of each word that is relevant. Together as a whole, I then have the key thought and emotion I felt, that I couldn’t otherwise express.

Setting your INTENTION before going to bed, or meditating, also helps. You’d be surprised what the universe sends you in response. Most of us just aren’t aware enough, to take in the subtle messages that come our way when we’re truly open.

If you are feeling safe in your experiences, you can try the suggestions I’ve offered. Keep a journal, write down whatever comes to mind, WITHOUT questioning the logistics of it. Remember that colors have vibrations, so do emotions. Everything is interconnected.

The more experiences you have, the more you’ll recognize as familiar when you have new ones. As time progresses, your ‘observations’ will become keener, without interrupting the flow of the experience. You’re back seat driver will take more ‘notes’ in silence, then speaking up and interfering. You’ll potentially be in a better place to ask questions such as ‘Are you my spirit guide?’, or ‘Who are you?’. Upon waking, you’re recollection of things will have a broader spectrum. Hopefully, you’ll also have some answers!

There is a wonderful book I’ve recommended for those seeking the nitty gritty on details surrounding OBE’s, and astral travel:  Toltec Dreaming: Don Juan’s Teachings on the Energy Body by Ken Eagle Feather. He offers in depth information on the various states of astral dreaming, and offers suggestions for levels of control while doing so. You may find more answers here that are specific to you.

When I first set out to find out some answers, I was frustrated that none of the ‘formulaic’ approaches available seemed to work for me. Once I let go of that, accepted things to simply unfold, I got the best results.

Remember that we are all unique ‘spirits having the human experience’, hence our results will differ. I wish you safe and happy travels!

Sincerely, the Fringe Dweller

Levitation, Bi-Location, and Ascension

Nicole Chayka is the co-author of the paranormal book 'Fringe Dweller on the Night Shift'I’ve heard about it.  I’ve never done it. I still haven’t seen it first hand, but I’m convinced it’s possible.  All things are, and I’m only one degree of separation from a couple of great stories.  You can make of it what you will.

I have some pretty far out friends.  Let’s say that some of them are further out then the rest of us, but that is precisely what I love about them.  Not only do they think outside the box, heck they don’t even acknowledge the box exists.

So I was at a social gathering at one such friends’ house chatting about this and that with another guest, when I discovered that she, like my friend attended what I will call ‘a mystery school’.  In fact she had been attending as a student going on 12 years or so, therefore I just had to ask, “Have you yourself seen or heard first hand of any thing that the rest of us might call a miracle or miraculous?”

She thought about it for a moment before answering.  I guess I must have come across to her as the open minded, ever curious type that I am, because without embarrassment or hesitation she answered, “Well, I’ve been known to levitate, if you consider that to be miraculous.”

Huh?!  You could have knocked me over with a feather.  “Really?  How exciting.”  I thought.  “So what does that look like?”

She went on to tell me that she had been ‘witnessed’ by others at the school as levitating on more than one occasion during her meditation periods.  What was odd to me was that during the mediation she herself was not aware that she was doing so.  Hmmmmm, curious that.  So obviously it was not a focused intent to levitate but more of a by product of the meditation process.  Very curious.

I had heard of a similar situation with bi-location that went as follows.  Yet another long time student of the same mystery school (a medical doctor I am told) had been a long time practitioner of the ‘Blowing’ Meditation. As I am not a student I can only offer in laymen’s’ terms my understanding that the purpose of getting up at 3’oclock in the morning is to weaken the dominion your ego has over you.  Ego would be that part of you that wants nothing to do with getting out of your warm, cosy, comfortable, pleasing bed at that ungodly hour.  Unfortunately, the ego body likes its creature comforts and goes to great lengths to sabotage anything out of it’s comfort level be it mental or physical.  It does this by jabbering in our brain constantly.

“You don’t really want to get up do you?  You’ve got to be kidding me we’re talking perfectly cosy sheets here and I’m still tired.  I’m soooooooooooo tired and we don’t have to be up for another three hours anyway so what the hell are you doing?  We don’t have to do this”….yadda yadda yadda yadda.  And so it goes.  The discipline is to move beyond it, to shut it down for awhile, to give our mind a break from the constant, insipid yappy voice that all too often ‘gets its own way’ like a spoiled and pampered child.  To create a ‘void’ or silence from thought, and to lengthen the time between thoughts until you can be present without them at all.

Of course that is my perception in laymen’s terms.  I think Dr. Wayne Dyer and Deepak Chopra have far more eloquent ways of looking at it and explaining it than I do.

Nonetheless, a far more disciplined person than I is the subject of this story, and the story goes that they had been engaged in this 3am walking meditation daily for over three years.  One such morning they were spotted by a stranger who drove to work each day via the same route.  The driver claims that one moment the person meditating was over here (pointing here) and then they blinked out and reappeared immediately way over there (pointing there).  It freaked the poor guy out.  What is common between these stories is that the person(s) involved in the meditation weren’t aware they were doing it.  As far as they were concerned they were simply absorbed in the meditation.   Hmmmmmm.

Can bi-location be a stepping stone en route to ascending? Is it similar terrain except that  you are gone for longer periods of time?

I have a third story.  This involves a friend of mine who prefers to remain nameless as is their wish.

Said friend was also meditating, and a facilitator or teacher who was present at the time witnessed him wink out.  Yes, I’m paraphrasing here.  Apparently, he was gone for a few minutes and then just as you please reappeared in the same spot.  His recollection of the event was being aware that during his meditation his consciousness was projecting, but he thought it was astral projecting, he never knew his body had gone with him. If not for a witness account he would never have known.

Levitating, Bi-Locating, Ascending….What seems to be the common denominator?

To me it seems clear that all three in part have something to do with clearing the mind chatter, being present, clearing thoughts away as opposed to creating them with intention.

I can’t say that I know this to be true because I don’t have any first hand experience and yet I am inclined to think anything is possible.  As Albert Einstein pointed out, we use precious little of this thing between our ears.  What else is the rest of it capable of?   Hmmmmm.

Namaste, Nicole

How Clairsentience saved me from a Sexual Predator

Nicole Chayka is the co-author of the paranormal book 'Fringe Dweller on the Night Shift'It’s kind of funny (as in funny weird not funny ha ha) that since I’ve begun writing down stuff about my own psychic experiences the vaults are swinging open to long lost memories I’ve swept to the sides, and for the most part let moss grow on.  I’m not one to dwell in the corridors of the past, but it’s somewhat necessary to get out the flashlight and go down a tunnel or two if I’m going to be of any use to up and coming psychics, to illustrate the ‘practical’ side of our gift.  To be able to recognize it and utilize it when it matters most, when we are in danger.

I’d like to share a story that was very scary for me (I was only 14 at the time), but it is a perfect example of why we need to sweep our logical mind aside sometimes and just go with our ‘knowingness’.

Raised on a farm in rural Ontario, spring was always my favorite time of year.  I have a special love of lilacs spanning back to my earliest toddler moments.  I loved being able to grab an armful of the sweet and joyful blooms cascading abundantly onto the front porch of my parent’s home, pulling them to me as I inhaled deeply.  They say that smell can trigger some of our most vivid memories, and to this day I have a wonderful association with them.

One of the gifts that pressed me to be appreciative and in the moment is the fleeting nature of this flower, which only has a two week lifespan before it withers and dies.  It has become my seasonal ritual to seek out and commune with the lilac every spring since I began walking, so there I was during the 14th year of being top side on the planet in search of my old friend.

My parents had a little hobby farm where I grew up with my half lab-all mutt dog Duke who was only too happy to accompany me on my foray a couple miles up the dirt road.   It was the middle of the day, and I knew I was trespassing onto some strangers’ property, but the light purple posies I’d come to collect for my mother’s table bouquet was just beyond reach of the fence line, and there was no way I was going home without my prize.  As I stood by the bush with a few clippings in hand I saw an old Ford truck bobbing with the rolling hills in the distance.  It reminded me of a roller coaster ride disappearing and reappearing from my view, but I had eagle eye sight back then and I was pretty sure I’d seen them but they hadn’t seen me.

Call it guilt for sneaking around on someone’s land without permission, a bit of paranoia, or maybe the touch of fear that was beginning to make its way from my stomach up into my chest, but I had the extreme desire to HIDE! I ran across the road onto the adjoining property and made my way to the tree line to blend into the foliage as Duke bounded past me presumably after a squirrel.  I crouched, waiting for the truck to pass thinking to myself, ‘Self.  You are such a ‘nob’.  What are you doing?  Clipping a few lilacs is not an offense punishable by death so what are you so worried about?”  Still the feeling would not let up as my heart crashed against my chest.

A minute or two passed and then the truck decreased its speed as it came over the last hill and rolled to a halt.  “What the hell were they doing?  Guess I’m in trouble now.”  I thought as I prayed they wouldn’t see me.  “That farmer must be plenty pissed if they were going to this trouble over a little trespassing.”  I kept perfectly still hoping that the fear in my chest wouldn’t cause me to light up like a Christmas tree.  It just didn’t make sense.  My emotions were racing and completely disproportionate to the situation at hand, and I knew this.  Why then was I so scared?

The door creaked as a middle aged man got out and walked in my general direction.  “I can see you.” He said, “So you might as well come on out.”.

Sheepishly I gathered myself up.  “Busted.”  I thought as I emerged from the bush to an open clearing, but then I was compelled to stop, and waited for him to make the next move.  To my horror the man slowly and silently started towards me bridging the gap, removing first his belt and then unzipping his pants, his intentions becoming clearer.  I stood my ground, finally understanding why my ‘instincts’ had been buzzing since I first saw that truck in the distance, comprehending my vulnerable position out in the middle of no where, wishing I had told someone where I was going that day before I’d headed out.

I stood my ground, fists clenched at my side ready to give this guy the fight of his life as was my nature when out of no where Duke screeched to a halt between us growling, bearing his teeth and making his intention clear.  I found my voice then, and steadied it for all I was worth.  “You see that dog mister?  There’s something you need to understand.  He will fight until one of you is dead, and unless you want to see how that turns out, I suggest you zip up your pants, get back in that truck, and keep on going.”

To my utter relief the man paused only for a moment while considering his options, and then did just that.  Guess between the girl with the rock in her hand and the dog from hell he’d decided this was more fight than he’d bargained for.  I sank to my knees once the drone of the engine was well beyond my hearing and nearly lost my insides on the spot.  Thank God for Duke!  Thank God for being Empathic.  Thank you Clairsentience.  I was in danger and I knew it!  I just knew it!  Why the hell hadn’t I listened!?

I have had other unpleasant experiences where by the same knowingness has kicked in when I needed to know the score.  I have since learned not to reject these gems when they come my way, but rather to embrace them and stand alerted.  I am sharing stories here on my blog that in many cases my own family haven’t heard, and so if they come across this I hope they won’t be offended that this is so.  I simply feel that sometimes the truth is the best example we can offer for our insights, and I really hope to get the message across especially to young people, to please listen to your instincts, your feelings, your clairsentience when they pop up for you.  It may just be the thing that saves your life.

“Doppelganger, the Ghostly double of a Living Person”

'Ask the Fringe Dweller' Blog Question for Monica Holy author of 'Fringe Dweller on the Night Shift'Submitted on 2010/01/30 at 6:09 pm

Dear Monica,

I’m in the middle of reading your book and thought you might be just the person to answer my question.

There have been times when people who knew me very well and would not have mistaken my identity said that they saw me someplace or that I visited them. These visits were visual only, I never spoke to them when they occurred.

The only time that I know of when I spoke during one of these encounters was when I called on the telephone and asked to speak to my grandmother, but once she got on the phone I didn’t speak to her.

Can you please explain this phenomenon to me? Does it have a name?

Thank you, S.M.S.

Excerpt of painting 'Grey Wolf' by Psychic, artist Monica Holy, author of 'Fringe Dweller on the Night Shift'Hello S.M.S.,

I haven’t had this experience, however the following explanation may apply.

The term Doppelganger refers to the ghostly double of a living person, one that may haunt the living originator. It comes from the German word Doppelgaenger meaning ‘double-goer’. There are several theories surrounding the appearance of one.

Some believe only the originator can see their Doppelganger while others feel they can be seen by anyone who knows the originator. The other theory is that it is an omen, a sign. Apparently they’re not common, but several cases have been documented, novelist Guy de Maupassant being one example.

In Sylvia Browne’s book  Phenomenon: Everything You Need to Know About the Paranormal , a handy book of Paranormal definitions, Sylvia writes about her personal experience with her ghostly double. She also offers ideas on Astral experiences and why our Spirits are capable of bi-location, however that is too big of a subject to begin here. As for astral experiences such as bi-location, the variety, their names and definitions, I suggest the book Astral Dynamics: A New Approach to Out-Of-Body Experiences by Robert Bruce. He goes into depth how these Out-of-Body experiences differ.

I hope this information offers a starting point for further research. Good luck, and safe travels!

Sincerely, the Fringe Dweller

Reincarnation and Knowingness

Nicole Chayka is the co-author of the paranormal book 'Fringe Dweller on the Night Shift'Ever have infused knowledge that you just know to be true?  It sits in your bones and there is no doubt of it even if you don’t know why you know, let alone how you know, but you trust you know, because you can feel it’s truth right down to your bones.

That mouthful describes my coming into this world bringing with me two truths that I have always known, but until adulthood never quite understood.

One.

I am vibrating at the same frequency as this table.  We are made of the same stuff and that is why I am in this body, this physical form, able to interact with the other objects and stuffs of this physical plane.  We are both vibrating at the same frequency.

Interesting concept for a toddler to hang onto even if they don’t have the words to express what they know is true.  Of course I grew up, learned language and created word boxes for the stuff of life.  For a time I forgot all about the knowledge I’d brought with me along for the ride when I decided to Reincarnate here. I think there is very good reason for wiping the palette clean and clearing our memories of all other lives past, present or future.  I mean who the hell could focus on being in the moment, being present and dealing with current relationships if  we spent our waking hours obsessing over every other life we’ve lived.

I do believe in frequencies of consciousness, and layers of reality all existing simultaneously.  Those of us who are ‘sensitive’ in one regard or another find ourselves catching glimpses of those ‘layers’  especially when they lay down like three notes becoming a chord.  I call it ‘Bleed Through’. When the frequencies bleed into each other a little some of us can see, hear, feel, touch and experience it in some fashion.  We have all sorts of names for these experiences.  Some folks call it Clairsentient, Clairaudient, Clairvoyant etc. but the wider term is Psychic/Medium.  All it means to me is that we can perceive other realities and the beings that inhabit those other frequencies from time to time.

Two.

The second truth I brought with me into this incarnation is by far my favorite.
I am in a ‘Play’. I am the main character, and all of you are props for me to experience myself.  However, just as you are props for me, I too am a prop for you as you play the central character in your play.

Talk about self absorbed (lol).  Actually I found that nugget very helpful as I read through Don Miguel Ruiz’s book  The Four Agreements: A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom, A Toltec Wisdom Book .  As a Shaman he describes this life we are leading as a dream in which we are the main character, and the play that goes on in the theater of our mind is really all about us, and has little to do with the outside world or reality for that matter, for our version of ‘reality’ is biased by our perceptions and world views, and colors everything we come into contact with.

In other words what I think, feel and believe has everything to do with who I am and nothing to do with you or anyone else whatsoever.  It’s all a dream, and when my time here is through and I shed this mortal coil I can return to the astral plane with a great story to tell.  With any luck it will be an exciting, wondrous, and adventurous story of love, laughter and enlightenment as I found my way around and it led back to ……me.

These are the memories, the truths I carried with me into this human experience as an infant, that I “re-member-ed” like the haunting melody of a much beloved song.  Whatever songs are inside you, may they drift into your awareness until one day you find yourself whistling a tune that you forgot to forget.

Namaste, Nicole

“Why is Psychic work such a Roller Coaster ride?”

'Ask the Fringe Dweller' Blog Question for Monica Holy author of 'Fringe Dweller on the Night Shift'Submitted on 2010/01/28 at 7:43 pm

Q: Why is there such highs and lows in this ‘psychic work’?
There are times that info comes streaming in then nothing at all?
Any advice is appreciated.

Thank you! I totally enjoyed the read!! Awesome indeed!

Noelle

Excerpt of painting 'Grey Wolf' by Psychic, artist Monica Holy, author of 'Fringe Dweller on the Night Shift'Hello Noelle,

Oh can I relate to that Spiritual roller coaster! I’m sure many others out there can too.
Simply put, we get as much as we can handle.

I think one’s current ‘head space’, and emotional state are a big factor, as well as what I consider to be ‘spiritual growth spurts’. If I was exposed to everything I’ve experienced over the last 4 decades in one overnight ‘cram’ session, I’m sure I’d be a little scorch mark on the ground. I’ve discovered for myself, that after an intense workshop, or lecture, I need some ‘down time’, to let all the information sink in and gel a little bit.  After too many days of intense learning, I find myself touching that state of hyper sensitivity that can lead to a state of hyper vigilance. I love a good coffee, however 12 espressos in one sitting isn’t necessarily a ‘good’ thing.

I ’ve certainly noticed a change within myself growing up. As a teen, I was immersed in a quagmire of emotion (weren’t we all?!). I found myself in a constant state of hyper vigilance where the psychic energy surrounding me was frenetic and overwhelming. There was also a fair amount of Dark Energies making their presence known because I wasn’t informed, and didn’t have any tools in the tool box yet for Psychic Protection.

Daily Meditation and Grounding certainly helps balance our state of mind. This enables an open minded approach to new things, as well as coping skills for overwhelming experiences. It’s beneficial to have a non judgmental perspective when taking in a lot of information at once.

I think what goes hand in hand with all this, is the concept that we can’t necessarily force or induce an experience. What’s important is the art of allowing an experience to unfold naturally in the moment, and to be present with it. This is what I would consider a natural pace through stages of spiritual growth.

It certainly is exciting when we experience and learn new things. However we can’t ‘live’ there all the time. There’s a reason for the expression ‘burning the candle at both ends’, it applies here too.

Do your best not to beat yourself up over the seemingly ‘slow’ periods, and perhaps embrace a state of gratitude with each new experience. It’s usually not until we look back and reflect upon things, that we can see how far we’ve come.

Sincerely, the Fringe Dweller

“Greys vs Aliens, and upcoming new Blog Art”

'Ask the Fringe Dweller' Paranormal comments and testimonials for psychic, artist Monica Holy, author of 'Fringe Dweller on the Night Shift'Submitted on 2010/01/04 7:40 pm

I am reading your book and love it so far.

I am on chapter 5, but have more questions than answers about Chapter 4, The Greys. I have so many questions on this chapter I could write a 1000 word letter on it and still not get all my thoughts captured. Your take on the Greys as a humorless, woe-ridden race is unlike any interpretation I’ve heard before.

I think the topic of aliens on the Night Shift deserves one or more chapters of its very own with nothing but your interpretation and reaction to any other races you encounter.  The Greys chapter is really more about emotions and free will and other topics than about these beings.

I’m curious about any and all races you have encountered through your dream state and how they relate to humanity. If another book is too ambitious at this point, I would really, really like to read blog articles about your new experiences at regular intervals.

Thank you again for sharing this part of your life with us.

Tom

Excerpt of painting 'Grey Wolf' by Psychic, artist Monica Holy, author of 'Fringe Dweller on the Night Shift'Hello Tom,

The Greys … yes, many people have commented on them. As you mentioned, my Greys have nothing to do with the well known extraterrestrial association common with that name.

The topic of ‘Aliens’ as such certainly opens a large range of speculation in open dialogue.

I have volumes of Dream Journals filled with experiences yet to be shared. As of yet mention of another book hasn’t come up yet. However, I’m currently working on a concept to share these experiences in upcoming Blogs, in an artistic fashion. It helps when one is an Artist…lol. I hope to unveil this concept soon.

It would certainly be intriguing to read what you came up with if you were to write that 1000 word letter, capturing as many of your thoughts as you could. You’d be surprised what may unfold if you were to follow through on something like that. Other people might share your queries. It’s always interesting hearing someone else’s perspective, as we are prone to see through the glasses we wear.

I’m glad you love the Fringe Dweller Book so far, hope you enjoy the rest of it and perhaps find something helpful in it.

I’d be happy to read that letter if you were so inclined.

Sincerely, the Fringe Dweller

What is a Psychic Imprint?

Nicole Chayka is the co-author of the paranormal book 'Fringe Dweller on the Night Shift'Luckily I’d heard of such things, because when I experienced such a thing, it had the subtlety of a space ship landing on your house.  If you ever run across a Psychic Imprint there will be no doubt of it even if it’s your first time.

It was early on at the turn of this new century as I went for a stroll with a dear friend of  mine who calls himself ‘the Wise Wizard’.  Peter and I used to enjoy going for a stretch along Jericho beach in Vancouver, Canada to ground ourselves and catch up on each others lives.  He was always a great sounding board, and the first to chuckle at one of my few fears in life, dying in a fire or by drowning.  He was quick to share that he had a flash of me in former lives and it was little wonder WHY those two haunted me. Don’t get me wrong.  I’m not afraid of death per say, but the ‘how to’ part might be problematic as I don’t find myself attracted to pain.  Past lives have a way sometimes of leaving an emotional mark in this one and I’d had many an unpleasant ‘end’ as a Witch or Healer or ‘Woman of the Woods’ when it was less than popular to be one.  Thank goodness we don’t stone Naturopaths or Herbalists in this day and age.

N’way, we were strolling along taking in the sun and surf when it felt like a wall of emotion ‘gob smacked’ me in my tracks.  I had the distinct impression of fear, panic, desperation as though I was in peril. I pointed to some shrubbery where a large rock was present and said, ‘There.  That’s where it happened. I felt like I was dragged in there.”

To my utter astonishment my companion answered back in agreement. “I was overwhelmed with the urge to sexually assault you.  To drag you into those bushes”  Even though his comments sounded predatory I wasn’t worried or offended because we were both psychics, and we both understood that what we’d experienced was an example of an imprint, but from two very different points of view.  I had taken in the extreme emotions imprinted on the natural environment from the victim’s stand point while my friend had experienced the echo of the stalker.  Echoes are not the same as your own emotions and having had plenty of run-ins with other people’s feelings I could differentiate like a 5 year old can tell chocolate from strawberry ice cream.  Advantage goes to the Empath.

A psychic imprint then is an echo of an emotion, an emotional memory of an event that occurred by those who experienced it. The natural environment almost acts like a sponge recording and playing back that energy.  I don’t believe it can hurt you although it can shock or frighten the heck out of you if you didn’t know what it is, or when it’s coming.  More than likely you can expect to pick up on places that witnessed great tragedy as obvious sources of unexplained outbursts of emotional energy, however great joy and love can also imprint an area.

To review, any intense emotional charge can have this effect so be forewarned that just going into the bedroom of the average North American teenager may lead to bursts of emotional drama. (grin)  Yes, that was a joke.  For those of you who still have adolescent children at home….good luck with that.

For the rest of us, if you pass by an area and inexplicably find yourself shaken with intense emotions that aren’t your own, there’s a very good chance you just experienced your first psychic imprint. Inhale-Exhale.  Just breathe, and leave. Whatever happened is in the past so say a little prayer such as the protective affirmation “All that is not mine, please leave” with conviction, and go on with your day knowing you caught wind of some echoes wafting through time.

The Art of Intuition

Nicole Chayka is the co-author of the paranormal book 'Fringe Dweller on the Night Shift'The art of intuition is listening to it when it speaks.

Ever see one of those Steven King movies where it was really scary building up the monster that you never got to see?  This post is a little like one of those scenes so please don’t lose it on me for that.  The truth is I never got to see it either.

I am a huge fan of ‘Listen to your Gut’.

I know a lot of people feel silly when their intuition speaks up and they try to play it down, but I’m here to tell you, don’t do that.  Case in point:  I was around 19 on a camping trip in Algonquin Park, Ontario-Canada with my then boyfriend.  Yes, that was a very long time ago because I now have a girlfriend, that’s how long ago it was.   Thankfully I listened when my red flags went off which IS the reason I am here to tell the tale of it at all.

We were having a weekend in rugged, au natural Algonquin and I was really looking forward to a bit of hiking, camping, fishing and of course some tent time with my fella.  I did say I was 19 after all.

We’d arrived a little after supper time in the summer months, and we had just enough light to get our tent up and go for a quick paddle before sun set. Then the evening would finish off with a lovely bonfire, s’mores, shooter drinks, and hopefully a laugh or two.

As we set out in our canoe aimlessly catching the drift and getting accustomed to the stroke of our paddles, we set our sites on a tiny little island in the centre of the lake as a point to aim for.  From a distance it was an itty bitty spot and looked to be the perfect area to pull up the boat and nibble on our sandwiches, but as we came into closer range my heart began to plummet.

I felt like a fool.

Not only had my heart sunk it was beginning to pound faster as adrenaline coursed through my body.  I said nothing as we approached the last 20 meters thinking that my response was uncalled for and embarrassing.  There was nothing on this little rock after all.  I could see no logical reason for this ridiculous outburst of emotion that screamed inside my body to go no further.

I pressed on.

As we pulled up on the rocks I found myself reeling looking around frantically as though the island itself was under suspicion, and still I said nothing as we dragged our canoe up on the sand mooring her there.  Determined to maintain my composure I sat down on the jagged stone outcroppings to fish out our humble dinner when finally my voice found its bearings.

“Michael.”  I said. “I don’t know how to explain this, but every fibre in my being tells me that we’re being watched, and if we don’t get off this island right now, we never will.  Get back in the boat with me and do it fast.”

In one swift motion we were back in the water paddling madly and to my profound relief my high school sweetheart admitted, “I was feeling the same thing too but was too embarrassed to say anything.  I’m so glad you did.”

Now you may be asking what was it that had us so spooked that we tore out of there like our heads were on fire but to this day I still don’t know.  Happily I don’t have to know.  I’m still alive.  If you’ve watched the horror movies it’s Dead guy #3 who goes looking for the source of it or who shrugs off his gut instincts and keeps going.

You can give it all sorts of titles from vibes, to Intuition, to your gut or even your ‘Spidy sense’, but it all amounts to the same thing, your inner knowingness.  Don’t be afraid to let it speak and when it does, for goodness sake, shut up and listen.

“Galactic Light Language and Soul Symbols of The Grid”

'Ask the Fringe Dweller' Paranormal comments and testimonials for psychic, artist Monica Holy, author of 'Fringe Dweller on the Night Shift'Submitted on 2009/12/25 at 8:16 pm

Dear Monica,

Love your interview with Marla Frees. I have talked with Marla a few times in email and
on the phone, she is cool.

Just wanted to share with you, that as I see The Grid and symbols around people all the time, I draw them for people. I call them galactic light language or soul symbols.  They speak to the soul/emotions without words and help us move forward in life.

Well there it is, my guides wanted to write to you and share.  Thank you for all the blessed work you are doing in the Universe!

Many Blessings of love and light,

Dr. Salo Stanley

Excerpt of painting 'Grey Wolf' by Psychic, artist Monica Holy, author of 'Fringe Dweller on the Night Shift'Hello Dr. Salo,

Marla Frees is a ‘cool’ person, I had a great time in our Dreamland radio interview.

I created a painting titled ‘The Grid’ to show my experience of what underlies all that is, the Matrix as I see it. How incredible to hear you share your experience of  it. It’s always fascinating to hear a different perspective of things. Not only does it validate the visions for us who may question what we see, it also adds information to fill in the gaps and potentially see the ‘bigger picture’.

Sometimes I’m frustrated that I can’t seem to find words that accurately describe what I feel, see, or hear.  I find myself smiling when I hear new verbal descriptions like ‘Galactic Light Language’ or ‘Soul Symbols’. What a beautiful choice of words to express what you perceive. It’s a personal vocabulary created out of necessity to describe the experience the best way one can.

I’m glad to hear you too draw and share what you see. Art is a wonderful form of communication, that’s not defined or limited by spoken language. Art can be a limitless form of expression that reaches a part of us we may not even understand through initial observation. It speaks to us on many levels.

By the way, did you hi-jack my personal library  for your website’s Recommended Reading list …lol? I find it remarkable  all the same titles we hold. If there is one additional book I could recommend, it’s Power vs. Force by David R. Hawkins, absolutely fascinating and illuminating.

Thank you for sharing, and keep up the wonderful work!

Sincerely, the Fringe Dweller
