“Does the Soul care if the body is cremated at Death?”

Your book is a blessing and I have a question..does the soul care if the body is cremated at death?

Thanks Sara

Excerpt of painting 'Grey Wolf' by Psychic, artist Monica Holy, author of 'Fringe Dweller on the Night Shift'Hi Sara,

Thank you for your kind words, I hope you found the book Fringe Dweller on the Night Shift to be helpful.

So far, it has not been my experience that Cremation is an issue when a Soul Crosses Over. Strong  beliefs about something before you  cross over, can affect the frequency you vibrate at, and possibly influence what you envision as you cross over. Someone who is agitated, and feels there’s unfinished business, may feel strongly enough about something to have these emotional vibrations accompany them upon Death.  The power this has over you, comes from the importance you place upon it. One way to view our physical body, is that it’s the ‘package’, or ‘wrapping’ we showed up in. What’s inside, the Soul, has a Higher Awareness we sometimes lose touch with. I work primarily with Lost or distressed Souls, however, I have been blessed to accompany those who upon passing, embrace the knowing, the ‘remembering’ of where they came from, as they return to wholeness, to the Light and a Source that is in complete acceptance, and has  No Judgment.

Sincerely, the Fringe Dweller

“Why do Challenges accompanied by Anguish begin, when one is Introduced to the Spiritual side of their Journey?”

'Ask the Fringe Dweller' Blog Question for Monica Holy author of 'Fringe Dweller on the Night Shift'Submitted on 2009/11/10 at 1:20pm

Hi, why is it that when one is exposed or introduced to the spiritual side of
this journey generally the challenges begin?  If re-integration with god
(God/Universe) is what people look for within religion , spirituality etc.,  why the

depth of anguish that most go through  when they truly find it, especially in
this age? If spirits after making the transition have the same issues, what is to
be done on this side of the veil?

Corry

Excerpt of painting 'Grey Wolf' by Psychic, artist Monica Holy, author of 'Fringe Dweller on the Night Shift'Hi Corry,

You’re addressing a number of issues here. I have observed that by the time we recognize that we’re in a Spiritual ‘growth spurt’, we’re already working our way out of a quagmire, one of our own design if you consider that we wrote the Spriitual ‘Blue Print’ for our experiences for this earthly incarnation. Without the challenges to overcome, there is no growth, no expansion of awareness.  As for the ‘anguish’, the truth can hurt. We tend to recognize when others around us are in transition, however when holding the mirror up to our ‘self’, it  can be difficult to look into our own eyes without turning away. I like the Quote by Leslie Fieger, “Any fool can run towards the light. It takes a master with courage to turn and face the darkness and shine his own light there.” Depending on your beliefs around Reincarnation, you can either choose to work through an issue this time around, or repeat it the next time. Either way, the less ‘baggage’ you have upon your departure, the easier the crossing.

Sincerely, the Fringe Dweller

“I thought there was something very wrong with me, that’s why I hid it.”

Hi,

I just wanted to say that I have had similar experiences in my life.  I have always known that I do not sleep at night and travel and do jobs elsewhere.  In the 1970s, while I was “sleeping”, I worked with Light Beings who rescued earthbound people and took them to the Light. I discontinued doing it because in this life I was to be a teacher and I needed to concentrate all my energy in that area.

Since then, I have used incorporation counseling method to do the same work while in trance.  It is not as effective method to help earthbound souls, but it helps.  I have seen so called “dead” people all my life, and like you, I learned at a very early age to keep it quiet.  I also see auras around people and on a few occasions, have given  readings for friends, but usually it wasn’t a good idea.  I was correct in what I saw and said, but I usually lost a friend over it “because it was too weird”, so I quit doing it.

I got no encouragement from my mother to be the “real” me; usually she accused me of lying.  When I was in my 50’s and she was living with me, she admitted she knew what was going on with me because her mother had been clairvoyant.  She said she didn’t want me to be like her mother, because it had caused a lot of friction in her family when growing up.  I could have enjoyed an ally as a child.  I thought there was something very wrong with me, that’s why I hid it. When I was 34 years old I met some people like me.  It made life so much nicer.

I can really relate to your experiences recorded in your book.  Thank you for writing it.  It is so nice to find a “kindred soul.”

Carolyn Poppen

I understand when you say you needed to concentrate all your energy to what you were doing in this life as a teacher. It’s utterly exhausting to continually ‘work overtime’. I found saying an Affirmation before sleeping such as ‘I will get all the rest I need tonight’ really helps. In my case when I was over exhausted my Guides would stand ‘guard’ at my bedroom door, redirecting those in need to other ‘Fringe Dwellers’ out there. We are not alone, and we can ask for what we need, a wonderful concept I didn’t discover until a few years ago myself!

Despite our feelings of isolation while growing up, perhaps we can now take consolation by making a difference for others. I feel communication and support without judgment is necessary for people to feel ‘safe’ enough to open up and share their experiences. I understand when you say ‘It made life so much nicer’ when you met others like you. To live one’s life in complete authenticity is very liberating, empowering, and loving.

I’m in a state of gratitude when I hear that this book has brought comfort to someone. Thank you for writing and sharing your experiences.  It was my very isolation growing up that sparked the need to share mine with the Fringe Dweller book.

So to other Fringe Dwellers out there I say… ‘Embrace you Freakdom!’, and as my friend Lynn repeatedly would say, ‘Don’t be afraid to be who you are.’

Sincerely, the Fringe Dweller

Paranormal Pajama Party

'Fringe Dweller on the Night Shift' Paranormal PJ Party book launch October 2009_PC Monica HolyIt can be hard to remember that “all is divinely perfect, and is as it should be”, when you’re throwing a Book Launch Party with no books.

After four long years of insanity getting Fringe Dweller from A to Z (meaning an idea stuck in my head, to that physical thing you can hold in your hands), no books. Welcome to my world, or rather my sandbox. Not the kind the cats go in, most of the time. The kind that wonderful and creative things happen in, spontaneously, if only you trust.

It’s a good thing I have an ironic sense of humour, and have had lots of practice learning to trust, or I might have been less gracious.  As it was, I laughed. Ah well. I believe you take what action you can, but then don’t berate yourself for the things outside your control.

From the ashes of chaos came the most fantastic experience. My friends came over to help celebrate and lord knows I owe  them for putting up with me these past few years – so the wine and sushi were flowing that night (it IS Vancouver after all.)   My partner and fellow author did a brief reading, and then we all stood around in our fuzzy slippers and PJ’s taking turns sharing our personal metaphysical stories.

You see, we decided that PJ’s were to be the theme of choice because I am after all a ‘lucid dreamer’ and the Night Shift stories happen when I’m asleep, so it seemed apropos.   Besides, it was laundry day.

What Magic!  Open Mic nite of the Paranormal unfolded as naturally as two bar flies trying to pick each other up after last call.  It was beautiful.  Like everyone had been sitting on some gigantic secret egg and finally the time was ripe to hatch.  It was like a load had been lifted.  I expected two or three stories to be told, but more than half of the group had an experience to share, and it was clear they felt relieved to have a safe environment for it.

So I want to present the following suggestion.  Throw a Paranormal PJ Party in your town – books are optional!  It’s a great theme and you can even hand out gifts for the wildest ensemble.  ‘Martha Stewart’ the theme as much as you like, but remember the point is to create dialogue.  Isn’t it time we all came out of the psychic closet? Maybe paranormal IS normal?  Oh, and by the way, if you do decide to host a party… pleeeease write in and let me know how it went.

Dream on, the Fringe Dweller

“Why do People Linger in Infra Red before Entering the Light?”

'Ask the Fringe Dweller' Blog Question for Monica Holy author of 'Fringe Dweller on the Night Shift'Submitted on 2009/10/01 at 9:30am

Why does it seem like some people hang around in infra red for so long before transiting to the light?

For people new to the term ‘Infra Red’ , It’s the frequency Spirits inhabit. I usually refer to it as the  ‘Pink Plane’, as that’s my colour of experience.  Please see my reply to Veronica in Why some spirits choose to stay here? for my answer. :)

“Why do some Spirits choose to stay here?”

'Ask the Fringe Dweller' Blog Question for Monica Holy author of 'Fringe Dweller on the Night Shift'

Hi!

I heard you on Darkness Radio last Sunday night. It was very encouraging since I’m a natural medium and I feel so isolated because I live deep in the heart of the bible belt.

My question is: if no one dies alone, why do some spirits chose to stay here?

I have helped a few cross over, but not in the dream state. I keep wondering WHY. I hear that they have unfinished business, and I have felt that emotional state coming from some stuck spirits myself. I sometimes think that the power of emotion is greater than the power of thought and that perhaps, some of them are in some way mentally ill and unable to logically understand what’s happening.

What do you think?

Sincerely,

Veronica Smith, Tyler, Texas

Excerpt of painting 'Grey Wolf' by Psychic, artist Monica Holy, author of 'Fringe Dweller on the Night Shift'

Hi Veronica,

No one dies alone.

One of the hardest lessons I’ve had to learn was to let go of what capacity I show up to ‘help’ a person or spirit. We all have different gifts, and we all help each other in the ways we can. There are times I’m there to assist people during a time of crisis, just before they actually pass …and then immediately upon passing, my part is done…because they continue on, either on their own because they’re ready, or with the help of another ‘Fringe Dweller’ who’s waiting on the other side. Sometimes I’m the one on the other side, and I’ve connected with a spirit who’s vibrating at a state of confusion, chaos, and I’m there to love unconditionally without judgment, and calm them down with understanding and comfort.

Some Spirits simply choose to stay. Death is a unique experience. Their emotional state at the time of their passing vibrates at a particular frequency. If that doesn’t change, they aren’t ready to  go to the light and there can be a variety of reasons.

Religious upbringing and certain beliefs can influence someone’s emotions.

Some are ready to Cross Over right away, while others need to be led to the Light. Some go into a state of anger or regret that they’re not ready to let go of. There are Lost Souls who find me, because they are still in a state of confusion and they don’t know they’ve passed. I’ve had visits from Spirits, who try to communicate the best way they can, sometimes in a clumsy manner because they’re still trying to communicate the way they would if they were still alive…so it takes them a while to realize that people aren’t responding the way they used to. However once they are acknowledged, they’re ready to cross over.

Some spirits  who have passed as the result of an accident, or tragedy, are not ready to go to the light without finding the family members who  passed at the same time. They’ll come to me and ask for help. As soon as I find and reunite them, they cross over together.

Sometimes spirits are in such an emotional state, they don’t initially recognize a Fringe Dweller is there to offer help.

Based on your comments regarding the power of emotions, I’d like to suggest Eckhart Tolle’s latest book A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose …I think you’ll find it helpful, as he speaks in depth how emotions function and influence.

Sincerely , The Fringe Dweller

“Why don’t I sense her Spirit around me?”

I lost my baby daughter before birth 14 years ago…..what are possible reasons as to why i don’t feel/sense her around me? (other than her doing things in the afterlife) she contacted me maybe 3 times, then nothing in the years since. I have never seen her spirit, even. thanks!

Hi Kim,

I can’t say specifically the reason you haven’t sensed her in years, however I can offer possibilities. When Spirits Cross Over, time is irrelevant…years to us could seem like minutes to them. They also know that they will be reunited with their loved ones on the other side, therefore there is no urgency to frequently check in. They may choose to reincarnate for another earthly experience.

I also have lost a child before birth, and one of the condolences I take from that experience, is knowing I had a ‘Soul Agreement’ with this spirit, that this would be part of my journey, my experience. Although I felt sorrow, I also know that they were greeted on the other side with love.

Many people don’t remember their dreams upon waking, and are unaware of any astral visits…take comfort knowing they exist.

“Am I opening a Door that I’m not ready for?”

'Ask the Fringe Dweller' Blog Question for Monica Holy author of 'Fringe Dweller on the Night Shift'Submitted on 2009/09/27 at 5:37am

Dear Fringe.

As a kid, I actually believed I saw spirits. When I was told they weren’t real I stopped. When I was teenager, I saw some again. One was an actual ancestor Indian chief, full head dress and all. Then they would only appear at time of emotional crisis, and always they were positive and encouraging. Never a bad thought and always trying to teach me to use talents. And I have had great success in my career. So… I’d decided I wanted to do hospice volunteering. I thought that would be good to give back. But I’m worried. Will I be sensing more spirits. I encountered a few before recently. Non-threatening. But if I do this, am I opening a door that I am not ready for?

‘Wish to remain Anonymous’

Excerpt of painting 'Grey Wolf' by Psychic, artist Monica Holy, author of 'Fringe Dweller on the Night Shift'

Dear ‘Wish to remain Anonymous’.

This happens all too often…as kids we don’t question things…we have no inhibitions…it’s the behavioral conditioning that we’re brought up with, and surrounded by that starts to mold us with new beliefs. Even our culture, or the religion we’re brought up in has influences. I’m guessing that if I were to ask you, at the time you saw these spirits, in your heart you knew them to be real? As I said, I’m merely guessing this. It’s something to reflect upon and ponder yourself how you felt.

My Spirit Guides too, come in low points of my life, and they have been of the deepest understanding, with a love so unconditional that’s astounding in its intensity…I find  words don’t properly reflect what I feel.

I think you are blessed to have these communications….what a gift your are receiving !

It sounds like you have a good heart…an open heart…which means yes you’re more likely to be sensitive to anything around you. You’re most likely Empathic as well. I ’d say you’re chances are pretty good to sensing more Spirits if you allow yourself to be open to that experience.

I feel you asked the right question about potentially opening a door that you may not be ready for.  I don’t know your knowledge of these experiences, but you would do well to learn more about Psychic Protection. Now I’m not plugging my book here when I say I go into steps to protect yourself, but to repeat all here would take too long, and if I simply cut and pasted my publisher would have a copyright fit…lol…..(hey, we need to keep our humor).

The simplest and quickest way to protect yourself when you feel unwanted energy, is to mentally surround yourself in white light…come up with a visualization that works for you. Have that bubble of white light extend out to your personal space as far as what feels comfortable for you. Some people envision a cascade of white honey running down the top of their head to their toes…whatever works for you.

Now, most importantly…send love…mentally send love, extend love outwards…and repeat in your head or out loud as often as you need to…ALL THAT IS NOT MINE, PLEASE LEAVE’.

You can even envision a Mirrored Box around you (I actually did a painting of this for chapter 4 of the book , called ‘The Greys’. You can view the painting THE GREYS on the website). It’s a two way mirror. You can see out, however those outside of your mirrored box, only see reflected back what they project onto you. It comes back to them, it doesn’t pass through your mirrors…only Love can penetrate in…and Love is what is sent out to them.

I’d like to recommend an incredible book that I feel could help immensely. It’s called The Four Agreements: A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom, A Toltec Wisdom Book by Don Miguel Ruiz…it’s a Toltec Wisdom book which fits nicely with your First Nation Spirit Guides. It was a huge help to me, it really enabled me to work with people…all people, those living and even those not.

I hope this helped.

Sincerely, the Fringe Dweller

Some of the themes may be beyond me, but that has not stopped me from reading other works that include concepts beyond my current understanding. I look forward to acquiring my own copy or Fringe Dweller. Perhaps my own brushes with the supernatural will have more clarity of purpose.
